Company Overview:
A Chinese multinational technology company, Alibaba specialises in e-commerce, retail, internet and technology, while it provides consumer-to-consumer (C2C), business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) sales services through web portals, electronic payment services, shopping search engines and cloud computing services. Although it owns and operates a wide range of brands, Alibaba is mostly known for its alibaba.com website which sells a wide variety of products including consumer electronics, apparel, food, chemicals and sport equipment, while it serves customers worldwide.
Alibaba Group Holding is one of the top 10 most valuable corporations, considered one of the world’s largest retailers and e-commerce companies through its alibaba.com, Taobao and Tmall marketplaces. The company has made it to the list of Forbes Global 2000, whilst as of 2020, it has the sixth-largest global brand valuation. In 2018, it became the second Asian company to break the $500 billion valuation mark.
