At Moneybase, we are fully dedicated to ensuring that your financial security is never compromised. We understand that your trust is built on the promise of security and privacy, which is why we prioritise implementing cutting-edge technologies and rigorous security measures to keep your data and funds secure.

However, it’s equally important that you stay informed. We encourage you to read our latest blog post to learn more about the tactics hackers use to try to steal your information or money, so you can be better prepared to spot and prevent potential threats.

Beware of Phishing and Smishing

Phishing scams, which can occur through both emails and text messages (sometimes called smishing), are fraudulent attempts to trick you into sharing personal information or clicking on harmful links by pretending to be from a trusted source like Moneybase. These messages often create a sense of urgency, using tactics such as:

  • Fraud alert
  • Suspicious log in activity
  • Payment or Transaction query
  • Request to call a specified number (not official Company number)

To protect yourself, verify the sender’s email address or phone number and ensure that any links direct you only to moneybase.com. Remember, Moneybase will never ask for sensitive information over email or SMS. If you receive a suspicious message, avoid clicking on any links, downloading attachments, or replying with personal information. For any clarifications, you can contact us through our official channels at +356 25 688 688 or via live chat in the app.

The goal of these type of messages is to obtain personal or financial information by instilling a sense of urgency and immediate action required.

Keeping your Account secure

In order to keep your account safe there are a few measures you could take.

Do

  • Enable face or fingerprint authentication on your account
  • Enable the authenticator option instead of SMS for web login
  • Disable card swipe and online transactions when not in use
  • Use different passwords for different services you use (so that if one password gets compromised other accounts will not get compromised)

While we keep your information safe and secure using state-of-the-art cybersecurity controls it is essential to inform us of any instances where you believe you may have been targeted and subject to an attack compromising your account security.
