At Moneybase, we are committed to involving and engaging with our community and our customers have a say in shaping the future of the Moneybase platform. We do this by listening to our community members on our public roadmap, inviting them to take part in our community events and involving them in other ad hoc events.
Through the Moneybase Card Design Competition, our aim is to create opportunities for emerging creatives, giving them the opportunity to shine – especially students and aspiring freelancers, to gain exposure and showcase their potential. Our customers will get to vote for their favourite physical card and virtual card to make their favourite cards a reality.
This initiative is an addition to Moneybase’s own designs! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Why Participate?
Exposure and Recognition: Your card design could become the face of the Moneybase physical card or virtual cards.
Great prizes:
- 1st Prize: €2,000 credited to your Moneybase account, plus your card design will be used as the official Moneybase card.
- 2nd & 3rd Prizes: €500 each credited to your Moneybase account, with designs featured on virtual Moneybase cards.
Judging and Selection
All entries will be reviewed by our Moneybase team based on creativity, originality, brand alignment, and adherence to the theme. Shortlisted designs, including those created by our internal team, will be showcased on Moneybase’s official social media channels for public voting.
The design with the most votes will be crowned the winner. Votes will not be based on likes, comments, or shares, ensuring the best-designed card wins.
On the 28th of July, the shortlisted card designs will be shared on our social media channels, and voting will officially open for approximately two weeks.
How to enter
Entering is simple! First, download the detailed competition guidelines along with the official design template. Carefully review all instructions included to ensure your submission meets the required criteria. Once your design is ready, submit your entry through the online form by Friday 21st July 2025, 23:59 CET.

Organiser
The promoter of this competition is Calamatta Cuschieri Moneybase plc, a company registered under the laws of Malta with company registration number C85280 and having its registered office at Level 0, Ewropa Business Center, Triq Dun Karm, Birkirkara BKR 9034, Malta, herein referred to as “Moneybase”.
Eligibility
- The competition is open to all individuals aged 16 and over as of the closing date of the competition.
- Participants under the age of 18 may require a parental or guardian consent to be shortlisted.
- Employees of Moneybase and affiliated companies are not eligible to submit personal entries for the competition. However, official designs submitted by Moneybase’s marketing team as part of company entries will be included in the shortlist for public voting.
- Any submission submitted in a personal capacity by employees will not be accepted.
Entry Requirements
- Each participant may submit a maximum of two (2) card designs.
- Submissions must be original works created by the entrant and must not infringe on any third-party rights, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
- Designs must accommodate mandatory card elements (chip placement, Mastercard logo, Moneybase logo). Download the Design guidelines here.
- Entries must be submitted in digital format, CMYK, based on the design guidelines.
- Designers are required to use professional design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Web-based design platforms like Canva, Adobe Express, and similar software are not permitted, with the exception of Figma, which is the only approved web-based design tool.
- The use of AI tools is permitted strictly for brainstorming, inspiration, or idea generation; however, AI-generated images, illustrations, or card designs may not be submitted as final entries and will be disqualified.
- Entrants are required to submit their designs along with their full name, date of birth, address, phone number, and email address using the designated online submission form.
- Entries must be received by Monday 21st July 2025 at 23:59 CET.
Judging and Selection Process
- The Moneybase team will shortlist entries based on creativity, brand alignment, and originality.
- Shortlisted designs will include a combination of entries from external participants and any official designs created and submitted by the Moneybase marketing team.
- All shortlisted designs will be published on Moneybase’s official social media platforms for public voting, through a dedicated voting form.
- The design receiving the highest number of votes will be declared the winner (votes will not be based on likes, shares or comments).
- Each individual may only vote once per shortlisted design.
- Moneybase reserves the right to invalidate duplicate or suspicious votes, including automated submissions or repeat votes from the same IP address or email address.
- The final decision of the winner will be confirmed by Moneybase after verification of the vote integrity.
- Voting will take place between 28th July and 11th August. The winner will be announced once we have received confirmation of their KYC and the transfer of intellectual property rights. At that stage, the winner will be contacted directly. The announcement will follow once both the KYC and the transfer of rights have been confirmed and signed.
Prizes
- 1st Prize: The winning card design will be printed on the physical Moneybase Card, and the winner will receive €2,000, credited to their Moneybase account.
- 2nd and 3rd Prizes: Runner-up designs will be featured on virtual Moneybase Cards and each runner-up will receive €500, credited to their Moneybase accounts.
- In order to receive the prize, winners must successfully open a free Moneybase account, subject to Moneybase’s onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. Failure to do so within 30 days of notification will result in prize forfeiture. Standard account terms and conditions apply.
- Prizes are non-transferable. No cash alternatives will be offered outside the Moneybase ecosystem.
- Receipt of any prize is subject to the winner signing an Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement. If the winner or runner-up fails or refuses to sign within 14 calendar days of being notified, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to the next eligible entrant.
Intellectual Property Rights
- By submitting a card design to the Moneybase Card Design Competition, you represent and warrant that your submission is your original work and does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
- Upon submission, you grant Calamatta Cuschieri Moneybase plc (“Moneybase”) a worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, display, and publish your design in connection with the competition, including but not limited to evaluation, shortlisting, social media publishing, and marketing activities.
- If your design is selected as a winner or runner-up, you agree to assign all intellectual property rights (including copyright and any applicable design rights) in the submitted design to Moneybase. This assignment will be formalised through a written agreement to be signed prior to receiving the prize.
- Upon completion of the IP assignment, Moneybase will become the sole and exclusive owner of the design and all associated rights, with full rights to reproduce, modify, distribute, or use the design for any purpose, without further compensation beyond the awarded prize.
- Participants acknowledge that Moneybase shall not be required to use any submitted design and reserves the right to modify or adapt designs as deemed necessary for commercial use.
Publicity and Data Protection
- By participating, entrants consent to the use of their name, likeness, and design for promotional purposes related to the competition, without further remuneration, unless prohibited by law.
- Personal data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Malta’s Data Protection Act (Chapter 586 of the Laws of Malta).
- Entrants have the right to access, rectify, and erase their personal data, which can be exercised by contacting [email protected].
Liability
- Moneybase accepts no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, or corrupt entries.
- Moneybase reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions or engaged in any fraudulent or unfair practice.
- The organiser reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of force majeure or any other circumstances beyond its control.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- This competition and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malta.
- Any disputes arising in connection with the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Maltese courts.
